(NPLQ) National Pool Lifeguard Qualification

OUR NEXT COURSE IS ON THE FOLLOWING DATES IN NOVEMBER 2010:-

Saturday 6th November  08.30 - 18.00  Middleton Swimming Pool

Sunday 7th November   08.30 - 18.00  Middleton Swimming Pool

Tuesday 9th November   19.00 - 22.00  Middleton Swimming Pool

Saturday 13th November   08.30 - 18.00  Middleton Swimming Pool

Sunday 14th November   08.30 - 18.00  Middleton Swimming Pool

Saturday 20th November   09.00 - 18.00  Middleton Swimming Pool

All candidates must be 16 years of age and able to swim 100 metres on their front and back, be able to swim 50 metres in under 1 minute (if they are unsure we can arrange a swim test for them), tread water for 2 minutes, surface dive to the bottom of the pool and climb out unaided.

There are two sections to the qualification:

The principles of lifesaving and
swimming pool supervision

Rescue techniques
Incident management
First-Aid
General anatomy
How to lifeguard.

The application of supervision
and rescue in a swimming pool

Health and safety
The working environment
How a swimming pool operates

Please note that the above information is of a brief nature

  • Qualification is gained upon completion of both sections (all dates).
  • Qualification is valid for 24 months, ongoing regular training must be completed during this time.
  • All candidates must be able to swim 100m on their back and front followed by a 50m swim in under 1 minute, tread water for 2 minutes and climb out of the pool unaided.
  • Places are reserved on a first come first served basis.
  • The cost of the course will include tuition, course manual, cpd record, assessment fee and certification.
  • You will be required to complete the course application form at the time of booking along with a non refundable deposit of £121.00.
  • You will receive a confirmation letter and course programme at the time of booking.
  • The outstanding fee of £100.00 must be paid by no later than 2 weeks before the course commences.
  • You may collect your course folder/manual when all fees have been paid.
  • Total cost of the course is £221.00
