Neighbourhood plan referendum

Newport Pagnell Town Council thanks everyone who came out to vote for the Newport Pagnell Neighbourhood Plan.  The results of those who voted were 88.7% saying ‘yes’ to Milton Keynes City Council’s Planning Department being required to use the Neighbourhood Plan when making planning decisions, and 11% who voted ‘no’.  The balance were spoiled votes.

The Newport Pagnell Neighbourhood Plan has therefore passed its referendum and will shortly become new planning legislation. 

The turnout of those who came out to vote was significantly higher than we have seen in recent by-elections in Milton Keynes, which just shows how much people value our town.
